THE GUIDE IN FULL TRANSPARENCY
Sources and methods
Where the listings come from, how they are built, who writes and what we do not guarantee.
The method in four steps
Archery Info is an independent and unofficial directory. It gathers public data about where people can shoot a bow, without paid ranking and without invented reviews.
- Collect — we start from OpenStreetMap, keeping every object tagged
sport=archery(club buildings, shooting pitches, sports centres, halls). Extraction of 25 October 2026, 20:27 UTC. - Clean — a venue needs a name and coordinates. Objects without a name are not listed. We keep 3,040 venues in 87 countries.
- Place — each venue is attached to the nearest town of the GeoNames database within 60 km, then to its region and country. This is how city and region pages are built; a venue outside any town is left out.
- Decide what is indexed — 812 venues publish a phone number or website; only those get a page that search engines are invited to index. The others stay reachable from their town page but are marked
noindex.
Disciplines
The five discs (Target, Field, 3D, Indoor, Traditional) are read from OpenStreetMap tags and names. Only about one venue in nine carries such a tag, so an unlit disc never means “not offered”.

What we do not guarantee
OpenStreetMap is edited by volunteers. A club can close, move or change its phone number without us knowing. Always confirm hours and access with the venue before travelling. We do not take bookings, sell lessons or rank venues.
Corrections and removal
Use the contact page to correct a detail or ask for a listing to be removed.
Who writes
The guide is written and maintained by the editorial team of Archery Info. Articles signed by a named author are editorial pieces; they never replace a coach or a federation rule.
